SFI launches indefinite strike at CUSAT (The Hindu, Jan 06,2006)

The Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) unit of the Students Federation of India (SFI) launched an indefinite strike on Thursday protesting against the university authorities' refusal to swear in Prasanth C. John as the general secretary of the university students' union.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, SFI State president Sindhu Joy said university union chairman K.C. Sanal would launch an indefinite fast from Sunday. The general council members will also launch a fast.
