Battle of the CPI's

While they kill each other in Purulia, in Nadia CPI(M) and CPI(Maoist) join hands to eliminate another group of Communists, the CPI(ML).

Marxists seek Maoist aid (The Statesman, July 27, 2005)

At a time when the CPI-M ruled West Bengal government is trying to chalk out a policy on how to deal with the Maoist menace in districts like Bankura, Purulia and West Midnapore, a section of CPI-M leaders in Nadia has allegedly reached an understanding with the Maoists to resist another faction of the Naxalites — the CPI-ML.
The reason being cited is the old maxim — an enemy’s enemy is a friend. Because of this the ultra-Left Naxalite group, presently the merged form of CPI-Maoist has found a safe haven in Dhubulia. And, are threatening villagers in Patradaha, Sonatala, Char Moktarpur and Rudradaha to vacate the shallow lands along the course of the Jalangi by the Bengali month of Kartick.
